Callingwood, Edmonton
Callingwood is actually comprised of Callingwood North and Callingwood South in our Edmonton MLS® database. Callingwood is primarily a pedestrian community as you can walk to just about everything with recreation spaces located in the community. Primarily composed of condominiums, it has a small percentage of single family homes that are mostly bungalows. Located in the center of the community is an urban forest with an off leash dog park, a skateboard park, the Lois Hole liabrary, the Jamie Platz YMCA, Callingwood arena’s, numerous baseball diamonds with bleachers and Oscar Romero Catholic high school.
Depending on where you live in Callingwood you are a 5-10 minute bike ride from enjoying some of Edmonton’s newest river valley trails and bridges. You can walk to Callingwood shopping center for groceries at Safeway and the farmers market at Callingwood shopping centre on the weekends is a major draw. From Callingwood its approximately at 15-20 minute drive to downtown Edmonton. Its northern border is Whitemud Drive (I have always loved the name White Mud - seems like it would be more pleasant than the dirty brown mud). Its western border is 178 street and its eastern border is 170 street.
Callingwood is primarily a condominium hot bed. Most of the condos and homes developed in the mid 70's to mid 80’s, but there are some newer developments as well. Well known complexes include Lexington Greens with its spacious grunds iron fencing and attached garages. More standard townhomes like Woodstock and Callingwood Court are prevelant as well.
