An up and coming community for young families and recognized professionals. The median age for residents of the Hamptons ranges from 25 to 40, with the majority of children being under the age of 4 according to an Age Group Census recently conducted by the City of Edmonton. This Community is not the type one passes through quickly; there are very sparse rental properties here. The Hamptons almost entirely consists of single-detached homes and duplex/triplex and fourplex units that are almost entirely owner occupied. This means that one’s view from their kitchen window is not impeded by sky-scrappers or compound like apartment structures. This is a very hardworking community, especially its females. In 2005, only 1% of the male population was technically unemployed, while the females in this community had no unemployment to account for. This is a very new community, with the majority of people first taking up residence in early 2000. It is a community that is highly sought after by natives of Edmonton. Almost 50% of the population is home grown and have relocated to this area from other parts of town. This is a very positive attribute as it shows that of all the places to settle in Edmonton, even the people that are raised here recognize the benefits and amenities available to one living in this area of town.

Living in the Hamptons makes traveling in Edmonton much less chaotic and definitely more accessible. The Hamptons fits in a nice box: South is 45th Avenue, West is Winterburn Road, North is 62 Avenue and most importantly, east is Anthony Henday Drive. The ‘Henday’ is a ring road highway constructed around Edmonton that is usually free from bottleneck traffic often experienced on the Yellowhead or Whitemud. It makes the daily commute to work and the Edmonton International Airport quick and straightforward, free from excessive stop and go traffic. For those who prefer Community Transportation, Bus Route 119 has service for the Hamptons to and from the World Famous West Edmonton Mall. The Hamptons is only about a 10 minute commute from 3 major LRT stations (University Station - 10.65 km away, Grandin Station - 11.82 km, Belvedere Station - 11.86 km). Carpooling to any of these three Stations is always an attractive option for ‘green-minded’ residents.

Health Conscious Residents frequent Callingwood Recreation Centre (17740-69 Avenue, (780) 944-7427), Jamie Platz (YMCA 7121-178 Street, (780) 481-9622) and Club Fit West (10403-172 Street, (780) 483-6722). The two closest shopping centres to find your groceries, caffeine additions and other odds and ends are Callingwood Shopping Center (69th Avenue and 177 Street) and Sav-on, Starbucks, Boston Pizza and Dairy Queen located at 62nd Avenue and 199 Street.
