Whether you just watch Bruno Mars and the commercials, or you're cheering your heart out for the Broncos or Seahawks, Super Bowl Sunday is fun for everyone. While many people like to stay home, or host a Super Bowl party, there are plenty that prefer to watch at a local sports bar. Here are some great places to watch the game in Edmonton:

My personal favourite, with the best deep fried pickles around. The Pint is having a "Sunday Funday" Super Bowl Party with drink specials, and a special NFL Menu. The great thing about The Pint (aside from the beer selection) is there is no bad seat in the house - you'll be able to see the action from anywhere. You might want to book a table ahead of time.

This is a massive sports bar that can handle big events. It takes a lot of people to fill this place, but when there is a big event like the Super Bowl (or an olympic hockey game) Schank's is a great place to watch sports. Plus, if you're not that into the game you can bowl or plan mini putt. They have door prizes, specials and The Bear broadcasting live from Schank's during the Super Bowl.

There are a few Hudson's around Edmonton, but if you're looking for a party on Sunday then Hudson's downtown will be the place to be. Their "Game-On" Sundays feature food and drink specials, and a madhouse atmosphere. Make sure you try their wings.

Don't judge this book by it's cover, Pub 1905 is the epitome of a local pub and is worth a look inside. A cozy atmosphere and a fun pub menu full of punny named treats - make sure you try their burger or equally awesome hot dogs.

I would be remiss if I neglected to mention The Canadian Brewhouse. With locations all around the city, a fun atmosphere and good pub food, the Brewhouse is a safe bet for Super Bowl Sunday, and they're giving away great prizes this Sunday. Besides, the have Buffalo Chicken Poutine - sounds like a Canadian tailgate party to me!

Although it's a chain, Original Joe's has a great neighbourhood pub feel. There are lots of them around the city with a consistent Western Canadian menu. Their seasonal menu items are always yummy (jalepeno mac'n'cheese is a personal favourite) and some original standards like the Double Dog can't be missed.
