The triangular boundaries of Edmonton’s Strathearn neighbourhood are defined by Connors Road to the south west, 85 Street to the east, & the North Saskatchewan River valley to the north west. Most homes for sale in Strathearn were originally build back in the last 1940s and early-to-mid 1950s, although many have since been updated, renovated, or remodeled to feature plenty of modern interior finishes that today’s home buyers specifically want.

Strathearn, Edmonton

strathearn_350Strathearn is east of downtown Edmonton and south of the North Saskatchewan River and has some of the best views of Edmonton (seen right). The neighbourhoods closest to Strathearn are Cloverdale, Forest Heights, Holyrood, and Bonnie Doon.

Two of the original landholders in Strathearn were J. McKernan, Edmonton's first telegraph operator, and W. Bird who built one of Edmonton's first water-driven grain mills in Mill Creek. Donnell Road in Strathearn was named after another of the early landowners. A small part of the Strathearn area was annexed to the City of Strathcona and subdivided in 1907. Most of Strathearn remained undeveloped until the late 1940s and 1950s.
