Living in Wild Rose
One of the first things that catch the eye of new residents is that Wild Rose has an abundance of green space, including the nearby Mill Creek Ravine. Wild Rose Park and nearby Kittlitz Park sit in the middle of the neighbourhood. Wild Rose does not have any commercial space within its boundaries, but a large shopping area is located just north of 38th Avenue, with large retail stores including Home Depot, Petsmart and Best Buy. Also, the many amenities of southeast Edmonton are easily accessible. The Mill Woods Recreation Centre, which has a swimming pool and ice rink, as well as the Mill Woods library branch, are within a short drive.

Freeway Access and Public Transportation
Wild Rose is near two major freeways, Whitemud Drive and Anthony Henday Drive. Whitemud is the main freeway running east to west in Edmonton, and Anthony Henday is a ring freeway around the entire city. For those who prefer to commute by public transit, the Meadows Transit Centre, a park and ride, is located just north of the neighbourhood.
Elementary and Secondary Schools
Father Michael Troy Junior High School part of the Edmonton Catholic School District is the only school within the neighbourhood itself. The Velma E. Baker School is the nearest public elementary school. Older children attend the Ottewell School for Grades 7-9 and the McNally School for Grades 10-12.
Annual Events and Festivals
Edmonton has festivals throughout the year. Some are major downtown events and others are small neighbourhood fêtes. Nearby Mill Woods Park has a huge Canada Day celebration, attracting 50,000 people. It also hosts a bike festival each May. With Wild Rose's quick freeway access, residents can attend festivals and events all over Edmonton, including the Edmonton Blues Festival, the Silver Skate Festival, the Flying Canoe Adventure Walk and much more.
Wild Rose is an excellent balance of two worlds; it's a small, close-knit community that has easy access to the amenities and resources of the entire city of Edmonton. Kids can bike to the park and parents can take the bus downtown. It is the perfect place to call home.
