As part of the Castledowns area on Edmonton’s north side, the Canossa neighbourhood is a sprawling residential community that’s mostly occupied by detached single-family homes that have plenty of appeal. Many homes in the area were built between 2005 & 2007, still providing home buyers with a relatively fresh look and feel on both the inside and out. Canossa’s close proximity to Highway 216 also helps make it convenient for anyone who regularly commutes to just about any other part of the city!
Canossa is named after a castle built in 940 AD near Bologna in Italy. Canossa is a predominantly single-detached residential neighbourhood oriented around a loops and cul-de-sac roadway design. Prior to urban development the area was used for agricultural purposes. The neighbourhood began developing in the early 1990s, but the bulk of residential construction took place over the 2000-2006 time period.
