Belmead is a small residential community that’s wedged in between Highway 216 and 170th Street NW. As part of Edmonton’s west side, home owners in Belmead enjoy a close proximity to the West Edmonton Mall, and a wide range of other shopping centres, parks, and other community amenities that help make it an appealing and convenient place to live. Homes and condos for sale in Balmead are also quite affordable, with most condos starting in the low $100s and most homes in the mid-to-high $300s.
Belmead is located in the west end of Edmonton, bordered by West Edmonton mall on its east end and Anthony Henday Drive on its west end. Neighbouring communities include Aldergrove on its south side and La perle on the North side. Belmead was mostly built in the mid to late 70’s. What’s interesting about Belmead is there is a small section on the west side that was developed in the early 90’s and is completely fenced off from the eastern portion of Belmead. There is a mixture of single family homes and condos but the majority of residences are single family homes. Some of the more well known condo complexes in Belmead include Belmead Gardens, Decoteau Gardens, and Chateau Place (one of the first condominiums in the west end with a single attached garage). In the typical style of developments of the time, the community is centred by a play ground, sport fields, and schools. The core of the community has condominium developments and a small amount of commercial space that has seen its best days in terms of maintenance.
