Background On Albany Homes & Area
Right now it is in the very early stages that many of the surrounding communities, including Carlton, Oxford and Dunluce, had at one point or another been in themselves. When the area has reached its potential it will expand with more shops, services and amenities. Schools Close to Albany
Albany itself is still too new to have any schools of its own, however that doesnâ€™t mean there arenâ€™t plenty of fantastic schools in the surrounding North West neighbourhoods.
The closest school to Albany real estate is in the public system and is located just south in Carlton. Elizabeth Finch School is an elementary and junior high mix offering standard courses for grades K through 9. The other two elementary options are both found in Dunluce, one is public and one is separate.
Dunluce School is a K-6 primary with a French Immersion program and St. Lucy is a Catholic primary school that also offers classes for students in Kindergarten through to grade 6. There is one more school just outside of Albany, the Kennedale School operates out of the Edmonton Young Offenders Centre and provides middle and secondary school education to the people within.

Living in Albany doesn't keep locals from having all the perks of some of Edmontonâ€™s larger neighbourhoods, as the area continues to develop with plans of opening many great restaurants and services at the New Castle Shopping Centre location which is across the street from the Albany Shopping Centre.
As of the beginning of 2015, already opened are a Wal-Mart Supercentre, Bank of Montreal, Seattleâ€™s Best Coffee, McDonaldâ€™s, Teriyaki Corner and Sobeyâ€™s with plans for a massive fitness centre, co-op gas station and unnamed family restaurant to open shortly. The main transportation hub for residents of Albany real estate is along the intersection of 123 St and 167 Ave where the number 155 bus runs along through the community and then back out to the east.
