North-East Edmonton

Abbottsfield

When Abbottsfield was annexed to the city of Edmonton in 1961, it was popular opinion that the community was too close to the Beverly landfill that rested to the south. But after the landfill was transformed dramatically into Rundle Park, development began to explode in Abbottsfield. Almost the entire neighbourhood was developed in the 1970s, with 100% of homes consisting of either row houses or apartments less than 5 stories tall.

Things to do in Abbottsfield

For such a small community Abbottsfield has a good variety of amenities to offer its residents. The Abbottsfield Mall covers the southern portion of the community and offers two levels of services to shoppers: on the first level are the stores and restaurants like Wal-Mart, Safeway, Pearl Gardens, Albert’s and Mama Donair & Pizza while the second level houses physicians, dentists and optometrists. Slightly north of the mall is Abbottsfield Park and the Abbottsfield Recreation Centre, where residents of the community venture to play in any number of organized sports on the park’s two baseball diamonds or three soccer fields, or drop their children off at the park’s playground to run around with friends. Abbottsfield also has a transit centre by the mall for the residents to easily venture to the rest of Edmonton.

Trying to find the perfect home in Edmonton without the assistance of a qualified professional can be a very difficult task. Navigating the real estate waters is not something that’s recommended to do alone, the amount of stress that it puts on you can make the experience unpleasant and may cause you to rush into something just so that you can put it all behind you. At Liv Real Estate® we make it our business to work with the people of Edmonton and get them the best deal possible so that they will know for sure when they sign on the dotted line that they have made the right decision.
