Jamieson Place Amenities and Transportation
Jamieson Place is primarily a residential community, the largest amenity is the Colonel F.C. Jamieson Park in the middle of the community and the large green belt that connects the community for pedestrians. This area has a baseball diamond, a large soccer field, a small soccer field and a playground for children. There is a large shopping area with a grocery store, gas station, pharmacy, restaurants and more. Several busses service the area, with the 103 and 105 travelling along Lessard Rd NW at the south of Jamieson Place and the 101 and 105 bisecting it via 190 St NW.
Jamieson Place Schools
There are two schools in the immediate area. Michael A. Kostek School is the local public elementary with standard courses for grades Kindergarten through 6. From there students will move on to S. Bruce Smith School in Dechene for junior high education in grades 7-9. The school offers standard courses as well as Pre-Advanced Placement, Opportunity and Strategies programs. Pre-Advanced Placement courses are designed to teach students to handle academically rigorous courses while the Opportunity program helps students with cognitive disabilities. The Strategies program educates students who have learning disabilities but also above average intelligence.
